We conducted field surveys in the neighborhood areas of Eri Scheme, Nerkundram, Koyambedu and Golden George Nagar and identified 32 Children. The parents are mostly daily wage earners. The family size varies from 3 to 5 children. Their dwelling places are huts built on an unauthorized land. Most of the parents have not finished their schooling. Some of their children attend the corporation school. Their general conditions neither provide a conducive atmosphere for the development of the child nor do they have the financial resources.

  In line with our vision we made it a priority to build a rapport with the children. Much time was spent in playing with them and identifying oneness with them step by step. We taught them hygiene and personal care. Children were given two sets of uniform a pair of shoes and other accessories. We groomed them into a disciplined routine. Recognising the importance of health, we planned a balanced diet for them and provided them daily lunch and snacks. Doctors from MMM Hospital conducted a medical check up. We are maintaining separate files for medical records.

  We have four qualified full-time teacher, 1-Cook, 1-Maid. Our working hours are 8.30 A.M to 3 P.M. At present we conduct 4 sections Pre K.G with 22 children aged 3 to 4 years, L.K.G 36 Children aged 4 to 5 years and U.K.G 16 Children aged 5 to 6 framed a syllabus that will serve the purpose of these first generation learners.

  We are proud to say that you as sponsors have played a significant role in building up the facilities. Your contributions in cash meet our monthly budget and the contributions in kind have helped the children in various way. The school at present has Educational; toys, audio­visual aids, chair, writing tables and so many teaching aids. We have well equipped kitchen.

  Our School celebrated Independence day on 15 th August. Mr. Sukumar Jeaysingh Correspondent of Ebenezer School , Korattur was our chief guest. The children presented an impressive programme.

  Christmas Celebration was held on 21 st December at Apostolic Faith Church , Mogappair. The function was well attended by our sponsors, well-wishers and parents.

  The Children were taken for a picnic on 4 th Feb 2005, to Guindy National Park . The children had a good time of fun and joy.

  The Sports day was conducted on 19 th of March at Dr. Ambedkar ground Eri Scheme Mogappair. Running. obstacle race were some of the major events. A special event was held for the parents. Many well-wishers took an active part and encouraged us..

  It's a joy for us to the see the children being transformed. They are curious to learn, never become tired and are always enthusiastic to learn. Children display their talents at home and amuse their parents and neighbors too. The parents are really proud about their children.

  In the corning Academic year, the children will be promoted to L.K.G and U.K.G from Pre K G and L K G respectively. We are planning to induct another batch of 30 Children in Pre kg and L.K.G. Two more teachers will be appointed in the coming year. We are planning to provide counseling for the parents. Formation of a self-help group for the parents is also on the anvil. In the long-term interest we are on the look out for permanent land and building for the school.
